Nebraska Primary Results

Nebraska's primary was held on Tuesday, May 13.   Here are the results for the primaries associated with races expected to be competitive in November.   Click or tap the office name for polls and ratings associated with the race as well as social media and donation links for supporters to connect with each nominee's campaign.

 

Governor:   Businessman and part-owner of the Chicago Cubs Pete Ricketts edged Attorney General Jon Bruning by just 1% to win a six-way Republican primary.  On the Democratic side, Chuck Hassebrook ran unopposed.   Ricketts is pretty heavily favored to win in November.   The current governor, Republican Deave Heineman cannot run again due to term limits.

US Senate:   Ben Sasse won a closely-watched Republican primary, garnering about half the vote.   He is expected to defeat Democrat Dave Domina in November.  Incumbent Mike Johanns is not running for re-election. 

US House:   All vote totals can be seen here.   NE-01 and NE-03 are safe Republican seats in November.

NE-02:  Incumbent Republican Lee Terry fought off a serious challenge from businessman Dan Frei.  On the Democratic side, State Senator Brad Ashford easily defeated Mark Aupperle.   Congressman Terry is favored to win his 9th term in November.
