In the latest North Carolina Senate Republican Primary poll from Public Policy, Thom Tillis has broken open the race, garnering a 46% share of the vote. That is more than the other 7 candidates combined. More importantly, it is above the 40% threshold to avoid a runoff. If these numbers hold, Tillis will face incumbent Kay Hagan in November in a race that is widely considered to be a toss-up at this point.
